July 06, 2020

The way is open for direct flights between the UK and Greece to open from the 15th July.

Greek Government minister spokesperson Stelios Petsas made the announcement on 6th July, several outlets in the country report.
Petsas said in co-operation with the UK government, and based on expert advice, direct UK flights would resume to all Greek airports from 15 July.

Petsas said in co-operation with the UK government, and based on expert advice, direct UK flights would resume to all Greek airports from 15 July.

It comes after the Department for Transport on 3rd July announced a quarantine exemption for Greece, which would allow English holidaymakers to forgo the UK’s 14-day quarantine on arrival requirement upon their return – effective from 10 July.

The Foreign Office also on Friday exempted Greece from its global no-travel advisory, with the exemption coming into effect a day later (4 July).

Both updates came despite Greece have already extended its ban on direct UK flights until 15 July.
