As we prepare for the world to open up once more, British Airways have been busy doing everything they can to make sure you feel safe, on the ground and in the air.
They are ready to get you flying to the places and people you’ve missed. To reconnect you with friends, family and colleagues across the globe. And even though things may have changed a bit since you last travelled with them, they will be there, ready to welcome you back on board, whenever the time is right for you.
They have implemented changes at every step of the journey, some of which are explained below and in their new video.
Enhanced cleaning methods
All key surfaces are disinfected after every flight and aircraft are cleaned from nose to tail every day. The air in cabins is passed through HEPA filters, which remove microscopic bacteria and virus clusters with over 99.9% efficiency and is equivalent to hospital operating theatre standards.
Face masks
They ask that you please wear a face mask at all times, on board and at the airport. As a guide, a face mask could last up to 4 hours, so please make sure to bring enough for the duration of your trip.
At the airport
You’ll notice floor markings throughout the airport, to assist with social distancing, and new sanitising stations for you to use whenever you like. They also encourage you to make use of self-service check-in and bag drop areas.
On board
For now, inflight food options and service have been changed, to reduce physical contact with crew. If you have any special dietary requirements or allergies, unfortunately these will not be provided for, so it may be a good idea to bring anything you need ahead of your flight.
